Between the beginning of the Great Recession in 2008 and the end of 2018, there was only one de novo bank national charter issued. The number of banks continued to shrink and it wasn't until late 2019 that the banking regulators became receptive to new bank ideas. Then COVID hit and things slowed again. We have now learned to function in the COVID environment and there has been an influx of new banking applications.
The challenges of building a de novo bank today are significantly different than they were pre-2008. These challenges are the foundation upon which D.A. Price & Associates was built. The founding members (originators) of a de novo bank cannot afford, nor does it make sense, to hire all the expertise required to build a modern bank at the very beginning of the effort. It is inefficient and cost-prohibitive.

Don Allen Price
At the end of 2015, Don Allen left big banking to pursue building a next-generation bank. As President and CEO of the US international bank, International Financial Enterprise Bank (IFEB), he led the design and build of one of the most robust and compliance-centric IFEs operating. IFEB sold in the Fall of 2019. Since that time, Don Allen has been focused on helping other de novo banking efforts go from concept to reality.
Don Allen has a broad range of skills and knowledge based on years of hands-on experiences gained as a banker, consultant, and entrepreneur. He has been involved with organizations of all shapes and sizes and across numerous industries both domestically and abroad. He is equally comfortable in the boardroom as in discussing the best technical architecture, streamlining operations, or guiding a market differentiating strategy.
He has a passion for designing and building something new, fixing what is broken, and helping others achieve their goals.
